The Client

The Metropolitan New York Library Council (METRO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing library and knowledge-management services in New York City, Westchester County, and beyond. Through collaboration, strategic planning, professional development, and advocacy, METRO improves the public’s access to and understanding of timely, high quality information and strengthen the role of libraries in society.

The Work

NYC Digital Safety: Privacy & Security is a partnership between New York City’s three library systems — Brooklyn Public Library, The New York Public Library, and Queens Library — and METRO. With support from the NYC Mayor’s Office of the Chief Technology Officer, this project provides trainings for library staff and patrons around internet privacy and security.

Dutchess & the Queen were brought on by METRO to create a visual identity system for the initiative and its materials, to create illustrations visualizing key concepts, and to design and build the website that brings it all together: NYCDIGITALSAFETY.ORG

Website designed and built in collaboration with Boy Blue & Co.
